Manage OpenCart Store in the Language You Like

When you buy something like medicines or device you have never used, then usually the first thing you address is instruction, tutorial or any kind of documentation. But if you cannot read or understand it, you may be confused and further have problems in usage of your purchase.

The same concerns e-commerce. E-world has no borders, so basically people from all countries are involved in it. They speak in different languages and sometimes for some of them is difficult to perform some operations if they have no idea what is this or that option does. Besides, it is always more convenient if everything is in your own language or the language you are comfortable to use.

One of the greatest flexibilities of e-shops is the ability to see the information in an appropriate language. This concerns both customers who are browsing through the assortment of goods offered, as well as to store owners who need to manage all the details from back-end.

Store Manager for OpenCart “speaks” your language. You need to simply enable the necessary one within the application.



Store Language (Front-End)

Your store may be set up in the way so that the customer can select the language of store menu and browse your store pages in more comfortable way.

You as store administrator can set multiple OpenCart languages in your store admin in the section System - Localization - Languages. There you can add or remove languages.


In Store Manager for OpenCart there is the possibility to change default store language by means of quick switch (double-click) in “Store Language” section of the application.




How to know that the language is switched and what is default now? In the lower grid of the application you will see flag denoting language next to tabs “General” and “Description”. If you have multiple languages, you can indicate some information (name, description etc.) on appropriate language, so when the shopper switches language, main product details will be displayed in correspondence to selected OpenCart language.



Language of Store Manager (Administration)

In Store Manager for OpenCart it is also possible to change the language of menu and interface.

To enable appropriate language package in Store Manager for OpenCart you need to do the following actions:


1) Open Preferences (F12) and select inset “Localization”.



2) There you will see available languages and percentage of translation completeness. Press download button to install language package.



3) To enable the necessary language in Store Manager, you need to select it and press “Activate selected language” button.


In case you have selected the language that is translated not fully, before enabling you will get notification message informing you that words and phrases that are not translated will be displayed in default English language.



4) After the changes are applied, press OK to exit the form.


Quickly switch application language is possible via Settings - Application language. Please note, in drop-down you will see already language packages that have been already downloaded.




Despite of the fact that English is obviously a language most widely used, it may not be "your" language. Feel comfortable managing your OpenCart store in the language you like with useful functionality of Store Manager for OpenCart.
