Setting Up Footer Information Pages in OpenCart

Adding information pages in OpenCart store is one of the most important aspects of "going live". Basically, such static pages contain critical information that your customers need to see. These may be your contact information (geographical, historical or personal company data), legal or privacy statements, shipping and returns policy or any other info you consider important for your website visitors.


Having this information readily available and freely accessed from the footer of any website page, increases confidence and trust of the customer.


Default Functionality Behind Information Pages in OpenCart

By default in OpenCart already created 4 pages for your site: About Us, Delivery Information, Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions. The links to those can be found at the bottom of every page. You can create additional pages, edit or remote the existing ones.


The number of information pages is not limited, so you can any any amount of pages you need. To do so, open ‘Information’ section of your back-end.



To add new information page to be placed on footer, press ‘+’ button.



After that you will see new form opened where you need to fill in details. Complete all the required fields and indicate how to position this information within your OpenCart store footer. Mind that there are a few tabs with fields: General, Data and Design.



If you want the page to be right away shown in the footer at the front-end, do not forget to tick box next to ‘Bottom’ field and configure ‘Status’ setting to enabled.



Once new page is added, it appears in the list. Existing pages can be modified or removed.



As you have seen, the process is pretty easy. The drawback is that each time you add or edit page, new window is opened.

Moreover, you can select a bunch of pages and make edits to them in bulk. This way you can mass enable, update or remove multiple created test pages massively.
