Scanner settings can be changed in Preferences (F12) - Barcode Settings. There is also “Handle as barcode scanner” option available. In case you opt for this selection, Store Manager will automatically perform operations depending on section opened. As for example, if POS window is open, product will be mechanically added to the list once it is scanned. You do not need to choose it from the list and press Enter to input it.

If you don’t have scanner, it does not mean you won’t be able to create orders in such a way. In such a case all the details should be designated manually.

How to Create Order with OpenCart POS?

To create OpenCart order with Point of Sale, you are supposed to go through several actions. First of all, start up the POS window through Store - Point of Sale or pressing F11, what will open POS notwithstanding what section of Store Manager is active at the moment. Point of Sale window includes several sections and to switch between them you have to press corresponding hotkey, e.g Cash & Change (F9).

Then certain product should be added to current order. Simply scan product EAN and it will appear in POS window. Number of products added to OpenCart order equals to how many times you scanned its code.

On the purpose to create order, you need to specify customer details, order status, delivery and payment method.

Once you are done and all the details are specified, press F11 to complete the order or F12 to create and print it.
