You hardly know all the prices and descriptions by heart, especially in case your database is massive and counts huge number of items listed. Thus, you need to appeal to OpenCart search functionality. However, in back-end this feature is rather simple and limited. But what if you have to look for something really specific? Use extended functionality of Store Manager for OpenCart to be able to perform OpenCart product search on the basis of multiple parameters.
To call up search form you need to press “Search” button at Toolbar or use combination of hotkeys “Ctrl+F”.
You will see new search window opened with three sections: conditions, search options, results.
Let’s view each section in details:
In this section you should indicate parameter that will be used for lookup in predefined fields. Depending on criteria using which you are going to look for needed entity, there can be typed letters as well as numbers. Next to field to add search request there is “Find” button which should be pressed when all the options are set.
From drop-down select fields to search in. In you need to lookup in all the fields, you can leave of them unchecked. This will save you time in case you need to quickly find products. Moreover, in case you need to indicate particular fields for lookup, you can do it by checking corresponding checkboxes.
Additionally, you can get the results that exactly match your request (completely the same value entered, including sensitivity to capital letters and special characters) if you check corresponding checkbox.
You can also limit the view of received OpenCart search results by indicating number of items to display.
After you press “Find” or Enter button you will see products that correspond to OpenCart product search request entered. By double-clicking on any of received results, you will be redirected to category to which this product is assigned and it will be highlighted and right away visible among the other goods.
Moreover, you can additionally filter received results by applying selection using headers: ID, product name, model, SKU, UPC, price, status. It is also possible to use headings to change the order of search results reflection: for text fields from A to Z and vice versa and for numeric fields in ascending or descending order.
